Fiesta de Reyes, located in Old Town, is hosting a unique festival commemorating “Dia de los Muertos” with a celebration featuring folklorico dancers and live performances on Nov. 1.  Dia de los Muertos, also known as Day of the Dead, is a traditional Mexican holiday that focuses on gatherings of family and friends to celebrate loved ones that have passed.

Several schools of folklorico dancers will be performing from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Fiesta de Reyes stage and renowned guest trio, Trio Los Tricos, will perform that evening. The dance schools that will be performing at the event include Grupo de Danza Folklorico Mexicana, Fiesta de Danzantes, Ballet Folklorico Real de San Diego, and Grupo Folkloirco from Chula Vista. 

There will also be Dia de los Muertos altars on display in many of the stores at Fiesta de Reyes. This event culminates a month of special events and activities celebrating both Mexican and American fall customs.
