Fiesta de Reyes Presents Free Concerts in Old Town July 3

–Pre-Fourth of July Event to Celebrate America’s Birthday–

On Sunday, July 3, guests of Old Town San Diego State Historic Park will get to enjoy two free, all ages concerts featuring patriotic music from Dixie Jazz Katz at 2 p.m. and the Navy Band Southwest at 4:30 p.m.

The Dixie Jazz Katz will play selections such as: “You’re a Grand Old Flag,” “Yankee Doodle Boy,” and “When the Saints Go Marching In” with a New Orleans-style twist.  The Dixie Jazz Katz is led by its trumpet player, Jim Gleason. He has assembled a diverse group of talented musicians, including hobbyists, educators and professionals, who get together for the simple joy of playing timeless New Orleans-style jazz.

 

The Navy Band Southwest will be entertaining the crowd with patriotic tunes on July 3 in Old Town San Diego.

The Navy Band Southwest will be entertaining the crowd with some of their famous patriotic tunes from 4:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. such as “America the Beautiful” and “God Bless America.”  Navy Band Southwest is one of the Navy’s oldest continuing musical organizations. Now with over 80 years of support to the San Diego community, the band serves as the musical ambassador for the Commander, Navy Region Southwest.
